Overview: Manage online communities and support the brand voice for a major global player in PC gaming hardware.

Location: Southwest Austin

Compensation: based on 3-5 years of experience

Hours/Duration: Full-time (roughly 40 hr/wk) ongoing employee with some remote but must be located in the greater Austin, Texas area

Liaison Creative + Marketing has a career opportunity for a PC Hardware and Gaming-savvy Community Manager / Social Media Specialist to join our high-tech client's global marketing team in Southwest Austin, Texas. As a Social Community Specialist on a growing team of social media marketing professionals, you will be involved in marketing and community development strategies and tactics, including managing the advocate program, engaging the user community at industry events, in forums and social channels, creating community content, and developing reports for project stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of today's social platforms, have a passion for PC and console gaming, basic PC hardware skills, and experience creating reports for management, leadership, or stakeholders.

  • Moderate, create content, and engage the community on social networks such as Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc, forums, and Community Website
  • Support the client's Community by answering questions on social networks such as Twitch, Discord, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc, forums and at industry events
  • Review recurring content for accuracy, relevancy, and appropriate timing based on product updates, current events, and the pulse of the community
  • Create innovative community development strategies and tactics by collaborating with Marketing, Sales and Public Relations teams
  • Develop a relationship with members of the Community while building an identity. Assess the Community's pulse, understand its needs, concerns and communicate to internal teams
  • Report and flag essential community feedback and trending customer issues in real-time for the relevant internal stakeholders
  • Assist with recurring reporting on community feedback and campaign performance including recommended actions
  • Leverage key members of various hardware and gaming communities to help evangelize the client's brand both online and off

  • Your resume shows 3 to 5 years of experience in community management or social media marketing role, managing a social or marketing campaign and interacting with an audience on a large scale
  • Experience in the hardware technology or video games industry is a major plus
  • Demonstrated track record executing short and long-term marketing or community management plans, and the ability to work effectively with senior management and partners
  • Experience in customer support and/or moderation in the online space including Reddit, Email, Facebook, Twitter, forums, social platforms, etc.
  • Experience in developing written reports to key stakeholders, company leadership, or executive management
  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Marketing, Public Relations or Communications

  • Ability to have an intelligent conversation about PC Hardware and gaming as a Social Community Specialist
  • Strong skill with Reddit as a power-user or moderator and in tune with the intricacies of the website/culture versus other social platforms
  • Familiar with Discord and a passion for gaming and building PCs
  • Strong understanding of social networks, its media, and trends; especially Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, and Twitch
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Proficient with basic image editing in Adobe Photoshop or equivalent applications
